Hello all,

I am potentially going to be DJing at some local nights in the comming months. I have some expierence of Djing, but that was just using MP3s at a small local soul night. What i am after is some advice on where to start when it comes to Djing using vinyl?

I have access to plenty of records from my dad, but will need to build up my own collection. But this is something i plan to do in the long term. I am confident in choosing a set as i have made plenty of playlist etc in the past for personal use.

My main concern is the fact i am going to need some mixing decks to practice at home with, so any suggestions on the affordable side?

Thanks

stick to technics decks..mite cost more to begin with but will last for ages...dont need a big mixer with lots on it especially for home use,ive just replaced my numark blue dog i bought about 13 year

Ok I will post it up once I've done my set. I don't think it will blow any one away, but hopefully get people think "I've not heard that in a while" etc etc.

I'm a massive fan of the classics and I'm a collector, which is why I'll always get an original first, but the cost is so prohibitive for so many it's understandable not everyone can play OG vinyl.

Altho owning an original of a northern classic is a righteous thing, I'd encourage as many people as possible to try if poss.
