Guest Jay Jones Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Out of curiosity can anyone shed any light on La Coupe Records of Great Britain as i've never heard of them before? I stumbled upon it on discogs the other day, there are a few pressings for sale on there produced by la Coupe, the actual label on the record also has 'The Gramophone Company Ltd' on it, which is what made me curious, are they pressings or was La Coupe owned by the Gramophone Company which would mean these records were re-pressed under licence ??
dthedrug Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 HI ALL Why this BOOTLEG has Made in Great Britain, was because it was aimed at the BENELUX Brothers & Sisters, which makes it more valuble? great records only worth £10, tops DAVE
Benji Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Dave, can't see any link at all to BENELUX collectors, what makes you think so? Always assumed it's a US bootleg label for the disco scene. The other release I know of is Aristocrats/A Brothers Guiding Light. Are there any others?
Prophonics 2029 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I have begging, time box on this and not decca , very high quality recording even in stereo.
dthedrug Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Dave, can't see any link at all to BENELUX collectors, what makes you think so? HI You got me! I read it in some mag that I have got, as a answer to the same question? back then (8ts) there were several things put out, that also appealed to the UK scene, the mag valued it at £20? it's 100% not a UK record or US, 2 GOOD SIDES THOUGH DAVE
