davidwapples Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 got a couple of questions about this label if anyone can help anyone know if there is any difference between 1005 - The Whispers - I'm The One / You Must Be Doing All Right and the 1006 release with the same 2 songs on it ? also does anyone know what the 102 release on the label is? as not shown on the soulful kinda music discogs thanks dav
Guest Johnny Mack Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 David 101 was also released on Bell 102 is Connie Tanzell Cant help you on the 1005/1006 Best John
davidwapples Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 all the copies on popsike show connie tanzell as 100 though ?
Guest Johnny Mack Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 David You are right. Connie T is not listed on SKM and I jumped to conclusions. It is SC 100. I thought I had the full run through 109 but in checking i dont have 102. 100, 101 and 103 are on the early Soul Clock label - text only with no clock face, therefore one presumes that 102 would follow suit. Strangely I have both a gold and a white demo on 106 - think the white demo may be Canadian ?? John
davidwapples Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 i have about half the earlier series and also a few of the 1001 / 1005 ones on there there was a white canadian demo of im the one by the whispers on ebay so presume that they were released there as well i read somewhere online that 102 may have been the original release number for times a wasting but not seen any proof
Guest Johnny Mack Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Dont forget that By my side/Moaning groaning and crying by the Fuller Bros was released on Keymen. Therefore, could 102 have been earmarked as this ? Would be nice if someone could throw some light onto this. Best John
davidwapples Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 the fuller brothers stranger at my door was a different version to the much rarer release that is on gd&l records with the instrumental on the flip as well hope to get the others i need soon when i get some more funds in after a couple of bills
Guest Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Strangely I have both a gold and a white demo on 106 - think the white demo may be Canadian ?? The WD I have is Rainbo press (machine stamped 'R') out of Santa Monica, and states 'Distributed by Fantasy/Galaxy records - no hint of any Canadian links. Looking forward to a thread about the label, so we can all upload the many label variations!
davidwapples Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 thanks to everyone who posted i take it that the whispers remember on 109 is the same as remember me also listed on 109 and just with an extra word on the label ( its the alternative vocal to times a wasting)
Guest Johnny Mack Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Just dug out the Fuller Brothers Keymen 45 and interestingly its Talk and Tell/House of Joseph publishing Producer is Ron Carson Arranger, conductor is Rene Hall That mirrors what's on Soul Clock 101 I think that increases the probability that SC-102 was earmarked for Fuller Brothers "By my side/Moaning, groaning and crying" Anyway, that's my SWAG for today Best John Dont forget that By my side/Moaning groaning and crying by the Fuller Bros was released on Keymen. Therefore, could 102 have been earmarked as this ? Would be nice if someone could throw some light onto this. Best John
