Guest NASHEE Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Can they not claim for the stuff on house insurance? (Serious question) lets just say...the teenagers were not unknown to a certain family member...(who no longer resides at the house) therefor not classed as a real burglary
Guest NASHEE Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 lets just say...the teenagers were not unknown to a certain family member...(who no longer resides at the house) therefor not classed as a real burglary.although they did technically break in plus unemployment money dosen't leave a great lot for insuring a house.

Pete S Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 plus unemployment money dosen't leave a great lot for insuring a house. I was unemployed for nearly 5 years from 92 to 97...insurance only costs a couple of quid a week...the bank did me a special policy for the records
Guest NASHEE Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I was unemployed for nearly 5 years from 92 to 97...insurance only costs a couple of quid a week...the bank did me a special policy for the records dont think the insurance company is quite so understanding if you hit hard times and find yourself rehoused on poss the worst housing estste in stoke
Pete S Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 dont think the insurance company is quite so understanding if you hit hard times and find yourself rehoused on poss the worst housing estste in stoke Didn't mean that, what I mean is if anyone's in that situation i.e. they have a lot of records but they aren't insured, often the insurance companies will do a special deal for records only. Sorry, going away from the topic really.

I've got a spare mixer somewhere so looking good. As for Insurance Pete, the guy obviously didn't have it, so although he might find such advise useful in future, I don't think he really wants to hear about what he should / could have done at the moment cus his head is in the shed big time. Regards Mace.

Pete S Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Not sure he has a p.c. Pete, and not sure if that reply is meant to be sarcastic or not. It was a sarcastic reply to your utterly needless point about my asking about insurance, all I asked was would his house insurance cover it - as did someone else - and then someone said he wasn't insured, so there you go, end of conversation.

If he was insured do you think his mates would come on here with a begging bowl? Shit happens to us all Pete - as well you know, and the last thing people wanna hear is what they could have done to prevent being in the position they are in.

There isn't much lower than a burglar is there? ! Alan
Guest Paul Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I'm sure Pete meant well. It's common for burglars to come back and have a second go - either to steal things they couldn't carry the first time or to steal items which have been replaced. That way they get your old TV, or whatever, and then they get your new TV as well. It's twice as painfull. So even after the event it's still important to make your home more secure and get some insurance cover if you can afford it. Paul Mooney
