okehgaz Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 A lot of years ago now i got into label collecting but lost interest and sold off what i considered as fillers a few years later. One of the labels i tried to complete was 70's Detroit label Fee. As i said i let a few things go, if memory serves Floaters/ ADC Band/ Bill Merriweather / Beverley and Duane(?) and kept the well known stuff, or well known at the time. Carol Anderson, Flaming Emeralds, Bobby Franklin. Looking back it's fairly obvious why i kept those three but i also kept Volstair - dancin' (which i think might have been a Mecca play - can anyone confirm) and Leo Lyons - set me up baby. Did the Leo Lyons thing get played anywhere? Can't for the life of me think it did. Fairly sure i got it off the front page of a Soul Bowl list, so couldn't have been that rare at the time. If unfamiliar with the track it's very Flaming Emeralds in style. Any information welcome - Thanks Gary

Missed out a couple of "Woody" 45's, but think I pretty much got all of the Fee ones. Got some great quotes as well from James Mitchell of the Detroit Emeralds, John A etc. Tap up the bearded one at Manifesto, he should be able to bung you a copy. Leo Lyons was one of John Anderson's first productions. Also on 12" !!
