I believe I bought the Chicago Music Bag issue in 1968, and the Al-Tog issue in 1970. I'm pretty sure that the Al-Tog was the 2nd issue. It's ZTSC number of 142000 should be traceable to an exact month of pressing. Scot-Tees was The Scott Brothers' publishing. So, I assume they played a big part in AL-Tog Enterprises. Howard Scott produced "Time and Time Again". But, I think I remember Bob A. giving us the lowdown on Al-Tog and Chicago Music Bag's ownership and production staff.

I interviewed them; interview is on my website. "al-tog" stands for "all together" and is just another Scott Bros owned label. The Scott Bros mixed out most of the group backing and mixed up themselves (the band) which was unfortunate. They were supposed to sign with Stax and the Emotions song "Toys to boys" was originally intended for them but they didn't sign due to bad management advice. They only released those two different 45s (with one coming out on two labels). One of the members, Vandy Hampton (deceased), was later in the Chi-lites.

Thanks for the info Boba. Now I know why 'Al- Tog' gets a credit on "I don't want to lose you" by the Scott Bros Orchestra. I always thought it was someone's name.

I rate "missing you" very highly, brilliant slow builder ;every home should have a copy.

Regardless of which one came first, the one on Chicago Music Bag seems much harder to find than the two pressings on Al-Tog.

Just buy a copy if you don't have one and stop worrying which came first, fantastic record IMO. Used to play this out late 80's or early 90's.

Absolutely, "I done told you so" is as good as it gets, essential

How much does this go for...I heard it played in Cologne last weekend. Not really my cuppa t but I've 2 copies on the Al tog in the boxes along with a copy of Time and Time.

Probably a tenner, not a rare record. Was countless copies about at one time.

I agree with this, as regards the Al-Tog issue. I've seen scores of them. However, i seen precious few of The Chicago Music Bag issue. THAT should be priced quite a bit higher, I would guess (if there are purists who want the original).

Got both Chicago Music Bag and Al-Tog issues in a Soul Bowl pack in the early 'seventies and remember being dissapointed getting a duplicate record!! Ho-hum!

I knew there was another on CMB in the pack at the time but couldn't remember ( didn't wanna embaress myself!!)....think that was the one. Also had Judson's "Everybody Push & Pull" on Capri along with Cam Cameron "They Say" on same label.

Yes, Anderson made a giant Chicago warehouse purchase, and had a LOT of CJ and CJ-distributed labels in quantity.
