boba Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 i think teddy vann's bazillion uses of the frankie and the classicals "what should I do" backing has been established here as the most backing track recycling
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Lonnie Youngblood's 'Sweet Sweet Tootie' on Turbo is also a version of this rhythm (although, like the Willie and West, it's on a recut of the Hesitations, rather than the original rhythm)
Garethx Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 That Willie & West is really good. Thanks for posting.
boba Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 That Willie & West is really good. Thanks for posting. there is controversy as to whether it exists on 45 or not
KevH Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 there is controversy as to whether it exists on 45 or not Have you more background on this Bob?
Peter99 Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Now this is awesome Awesome fecking indeed! Nice one. Peter
boba Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Have you more background on this Bob? no, other people have more background but have asked me about it. i have had multiple people ask me for a copy of the 45 and several people insisting that it does exist. I am really into collecting stang/turbo/all platinum/vibration/etc. but there is so much weird rare stuff on the label that it's very possible some weird press exists. you'd think it would be on someone's DJ playlist at this point though. 1
Garethx Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Not forgetting this one, on another recut of the same basic track: 1
Only Dreaming Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I always liked the way Mr Kerr recycled the strings on the intro to these two tracks: Dave
Guest Polyvelts Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 As well as recycling tunes, he liked to keep it in the family too, producing tunes for both daughters Tracy and sandy
