Anyone know if the "Food For Thought" LP by the JB's on People (US issue from 1972) was ever reissued or booted as a lookalike?

There are US and Japan reissues with the same covers and another one with a purple and grey cover, I recently saw the Japan re-ish for £30

Surely has Gene R - there's plenty around on the ' bay or specialist vinyl emporiums for around a tenner at most times. think most if not all the catalogue has been re pressed. Soul Brother maybe?

Cheers Rich - do you happen to know if they're exact lookalikes? And if so, is there a way of telling the difference?

Got one at home - US pressing - Will have a look this weekend if no-one posts up info quicker. I THINK they look the same - but have a kind of ' photocopy ' look if you know what I mean. Plus the fact they are all sealed for a tenner  give us a clue.. tho I have seen soul / funk LP re-presses described as originals by non-soul dealers... Tho that wouldn't be a first would it?

As far as sound quality goes - they sound fine. Maybe one of the funk guys can give up more detailed info?

Thanks for the help so far Rich, and to anyone else!

It may help if I describe the copy I have. There is no evidence of a "photocopy" look, even though the back cover is black and white. The cover appears to be pretty tough cardboard, typical of US LPs from that time, though the inside of the cover is white as opposed to cardboard grey. The label just gives details of tracks - no producer or composer credits etc....

Any help greatly appreciated!!

The white card inside is the giveaway - almost certainly a boot. Its one of the batch of many reissues that have been doing the rounds these past few years. While still sealed, with some of them it can be very difficult to tell orig from reissue - to the untrained eye at least  - but the white card inside is a giveaway once unsealed.
