We are pleased to announce that Solid Hit Souls new venue is Upstairs at O’Neils Pub @ 73-77 Euston Road London NW1. More intimate than our previous venue with a capacity of 140 it is, we feel an ideal venue for a Northern Night. Pub price bar at one end, Tables & chairs (ideal for record dealers) surround the talc friendly wooden dancefloor with a small stage on the far wall with decks etc.Our first night at O’Neils takes place Friday 17th February, £5 in, 8pm - 1am & our Special Guest for this is Carl Fortnum, top DJ from the old Capital Soul Club & of course all over the country, together with our residents Stuart Tyler, Martin Thomson, Gene Robertson & Dave Greenhill.

As always we bring you Northern for the floor, a superb mix of classic oldies, underplayed oldies that should be played & semi knowns.This is going to be good, already we’ve had loads of calls asking for details!

Previously known as Drummonds it was a well known club in the 80s & early 90s for not only Northern nights (Jon Buck promoted nights here amongst others) but also for the mod element who ran their own clubs in the venue as well as indie/rock /pop clubs . A brilliant location with no less than 3 mainline stations within walking distance, St Pancras is dead opposite, Kings Cross is a 2/3 minute hop & Euston will take about 6/7 minutes if you cut out the hopping & just walk. 6 different tube lines pass through King X or Euston, + Kings Cross Thameslink & there’s loads of buses stop almost outside the venue. Parking is easy in the back streets & don’t worry, the areas been cleaned up & all the crack dealers & whores have been cleared out. That may disappoint 1 or 2 of our regulars but most of us think it’s a good thing .Oh by the way, if you want to get there early they serve delicious food in the pub downstairs

Well done Dave & co,a nice new venue,to go with the top quality sounds you lot always played,as it is next to Kings X ,not too much hassle with the travel etc.

Downstairs but not upstairs I think, but being an Irish theme pub its rather nice to have exceptionally drinkable Guinness on tap. They have Newcastle Brown too. Hic!

Drummonds (as was) is a fantastic venue. Spent much of my mis-spent youth there. IN the late 80's it was a mod club on a Sunday Night, hosted by Rob Messer, Steve Coulson and Richard (shirlie) Earlie (its where I first met Val Palmer and Joan - too name but a few). Then in the early 90's Jon Buck used to run it as a 100 club warm up with residents being Gary Spencer and Paul Donnelly. Oh we had some great fun!

Can't go myself as I am no longer local - hope its a great night!

Shame, it hasn't changed that much either, although the bar is a bit different (bigger and not boxed in). Used to go there in the eighties myself in tight trousers and no grey hair.

I remember Drummonds too, used to go there with Shaun Adams (skinhead Shaun) loved the place, brings back memories too!

You'll do well here, Top Venue....We stopped doing do's here in about 1990-1 The Brewery @ the time decided to turn the venue into a small theatre, therefore bringing to an end the successfull nights that we used to do there,

Cheers Jon, that would explain the bizarre miniature stage in the corner. Rest assured, we will not be performing excerpts from Chekhov during the interval.
