Just got a copy of Jackey Beavers - Never Found a Girl -Seventy Seven DJ Copy 1973 and noticed the writing credits are (Jackey Beavers)? but on my Eddie Floyd - Never Found a Girl - Stax Demo June 7 1968 the writing credits are (B.Jones - E.Floyd - A. Isabell) ? Hows that work then ?

I thought the Eddie Floyd was obviously the original , so how can somebody else claim they wrote it , who would get the royalties ?

just wondering , I know not rarities but nice tune all the same

Cheers

The real culprit on this track was Antwans on Snatwa.

Label 'writer uncredited' - And they even changed the song title!

Must say I've always loved this great song!

Check out this recent 'funky take!

And also look out for the UK EMI copy by Willian Devaughan. Great double sider!

My take has always been it was a 'mistake' mate.

They just didn't do their homework.

Cheers Sean , seems a good mistake to make though or would Jackey have not been registered as the writer?

Cheers

Don't think so.. I paid something like a tenner for it but that was in 1985 :)

Love the Esther Phillips version - note it also credits Eddie Floyd and co....

I do wish she'd blow her nose.

Is it on Sly or the re-issue on New Wave :wicked:

New wave. I don't think the Sly ones were even known about when they first come over.
