Swifty Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Just got a copy of Jackey Beavers - Never Found a Girl -Seventy Seven DJ Copy 1973 and noticed the writing credits are (Jackey Beavers)? but on my Eddie Floyd - Never Found a Girl - Stax Demo June 7 1968 the writing credits are (B.Jones - E.Floyd - A. Isabell) ? Hows that work then ? I thought the Eddie Floyd was obviously the original , so how can somebody else claim they wrote it , who would get the royalties ? just wondering , I know not rarities but nice tune all the same Cheers Swifty
Sean Hampsey Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 My take has always been it was a 'mistake' mate. They just didn't do their homework. Sean
Sean Hampsey Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 The real culprit on this track was Antwans on Snatwa. Label 'writer uncredited' - And they even changed the song title! Must say I've always loved this great song! Check out this recent 'funky take! And also look out for the UK EMI copy by Willian Devaughan. Great double sider! Sean 1

Sean Cheers Sean , seems a good mistake to make though or would Jackey have not been registered as the writer? Cheers Swifty p.s. Posted Bettye tonight mate , if you know what I mean
