Denbo Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 On small hole 45s of course. Has anyone seen any in the last year or two? Ady Good question. Why?
Ady Croasdell Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Just answer the question nosy.
Denbo Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Just answer the question nosy. Err, okay then. No! Now are you going to tell us why?
Ady Croasdell Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Wanna do some so you'll have to buy them!
boba Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 united record pressing does them, they started a couple years ago: https://www.urpressing.com/7inch.php unfortunately, there have been some quality control issues with stuff coming out of their plant recently
Ady Croasdell Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Thanks Bob, that's amazing that a US company would press UK style singles. The shipping costs might prohibit us using them though. I'll try Timmion direct but a UK company should be cheaper. Ta Ady
Pete S Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Last ones I saw were the ones below which look superb in my opinion, could pass off as an original 60's issue. Only trouble is, I don't know who made them...
Ady Croasdell Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Thanks Pete, it's Cherry Red songs, maybe summat to do with them. If I had his number and a time machine I could ask old Northern Soulie Shelvo, he lived in the same block of flats as Laurel. They probably shared cheroots.

Laurel's long gone though Ady unfortunately. Can't work out how Cherry Red ended up with the publishing though.
Amsterdam Russ Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Won't particularly help, but I'm positive I saw a recently pressed 45 with a pop-out centre earlier this year. Possibly it was at the Utrecht record fair. Thinking back, I recall remarking on the fact that such things could still be made today. It looked really cool. Vague, I know, but my point is that they do exist. Although it could have come out of the pressing plant Bob mentioned of course...

boba Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 here is what the united pressing ones look like just for reference:
Kris Holmes Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I thought United were the only place doing these?
Dean Rudland Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I'm pretty sure these are all coming from United. I think Tony knows who were the last people in the UK to do them.
Mick Sway Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I take it that these are not legit re-releases? https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/soulwaxni/m.html?_uhb=1&hash=item1c2b300f2d&item=120983654189&pt=UK_Records&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2562

Guest Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 . If I had his number and a time machine I could ask old Northern Soulie Shelvo, he lived in the same block of flats as Laurel. They probably shared cheroots. Fck me i just realised i've not seen Shelvo in over 10 years.. Deano's 40th in Newcastle and he was 50 3months ago.
Guest SteveJohnston Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) Ady this is a long shot but I'm sure the Madness NW5 / Bittersweet 45 on Lucky Seven Lucky7002S had a dinkout I know it was mastered by Tim Young at Metropolis sleeved by Cally at Antar, hope this helps. Ady Croasdell Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 Thanks people we've got a couple of lines of enquiry there. Ady
Soulman Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Ady, I know someone with a "dinker machine". If they were to let it go you could offer two alternatives to buyers Steve
boba Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Ady, I know someone with a "dinker machine". If they were to let it go you could offer two alternatives to buyers Steve I know you're not being serious, but the purpose of the pressing is to replicate what looks like a 60s UK pressing; not to give the users the actual functionality of the self-dinkable centers.
