Great track I have had this in my box for nearly six years and always gets a great reaction. I had it on my website for at least 8years prior to that for a fiver, could not sell it, so revisited played it again and it was straight in the DJ box.

Oddly enough, if you read the Pete Lawson "Gospel According to Dave Godin" magazine stuff from 1989, El Corels is mentioned as a newie and one which he is particularly enthusiastic about.

IMHO ...neither copy are any good !

Have heard both copies ..one I picked up on rouser and sold quick...and yours at Leeds Dave .

The chick chick chick ch ch chick chick spoils the record for me :(

We got you to blame then Sean

Defo the first one.

Rouser copy is pale in comparison

"You Gotta Be An Angel" is the side that really does it for me.

Was it on another label other than Rouser, then?

Yep both sides came out on Tiny first, which was owned by the bands manager. He then licensed to both to Rouser, who did a remix of 'Chick Chick'

Surprised it was n your sales for so long at hat time Sean. Around turn of century, early 00's it was quite indemand, Dome, Drunken Monkey etc.

As said it has been around for years, since the late 80's at least..

I'm also with Nev, anything good in the record is spoilt by he annoying "chick chick".

The strange thing with this is they cut the the bongo driven intro from the Chick Chick side for the Rouser release but left the drab intro for the flip which doesn't get going until 28 sec in to the tune - should have left the Tiny version intro for Chick Chick and cut the flip down - IMHO of course

Never seen a demo but I have not really looked for one. Had the Rouser copy but went off it and never liked the slow side, lyrics make me cringe.

My favourite Chick song, have it on UK BAF, don't know if got a US release?

Thanks Dave. I would imagine the Tiny issue must be dog-rare - never knew of it.

hi michael. is the flip of this a british rocksteady called 'falling in love'???

No fella, tis a version of On Broadway, probably didn't help sales as it's pretty dire, but you're right in that the label is more known for rocksteady type releases, both sides of this are also on a comp lp of various 45's on the label, don't know how tough is to find on your side of the water, maybe a q for Pete S?

Think that sayed more about how I could get away with anything at last hour in Allanton rather than me djing skills.

It really does not work for me on any level.
