Ljblanken Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 This song is the unbelievable lowrider jam! I can't find this on any discography. does anyone know if this is on vinyl anywhere? 1
phillyDaveG Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 It's from the Jap P-Vine LP "Brief Encounter with sweet soul music" released in 1988. Goes for about £100 - great lp 1

greeneggz Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I have a spare of this LP. Get at me if you're interested.
Ljblanken Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 the only bummer for me is that i don't buy LPs - only 45s. this may be sacrilegious, but i'd need to get a carver of the song on 45.
phillyDaveG Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Dare I ask why? I mean you'd end up with an illegal boot leg rather than the original?
Ljblanken Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) Dare I ask why? I mean you'd end up with an illegal boot leg rather than the original? well, first, i don't really consider myself a record collector. i like original 45s (but obviously have some re-issues of super-rarities like lester tipton). i also have a couple of carvers of things like "til you were gone" by frank wilson and the miracles (which was, as i far as i know, never released on vinyl, just CD) for DJ-ing. second, i just don't have any emotional feeling for LPs. third, when i do DJ, i am not gonna bring 200 45s in a flight-case and like 2 LPs. for example, i have a boot 45 of "my love is your love" by the isley bros (i assume it is a boot - it looks like a fake green british TMG demo with a white "A" on it), and don't bother to have the LP. fourth, i don't really consider a japanese LP from the 1980s as all that "original" (even though it may be technically/legally). i have been trolling through the comments on youtube for this song, and a person who claimed to be an original member of Brief Encounter said that they recorded this song for one of their 77 singles, and at the last minute (and without their knowledge) it was dumped in place of another song. that sucks! so i consider it an unreleased song, and a modern carver would be fine in my mind. to each his own!
