Corbett80 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Can anyone help with a quick question? Were both Stanley Mitchell and The Jades 'Im Where It's At' played around 1975, and if so were both the Dynamo multi coloured boot and the Jades pale yellow Nite Life boot around at the same time? Many thanks!
Pete S Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 No Stanley Mitchell was pressed on the orange Soul Wax label in 75, then on the colured Dynamo label in 77, the Jades was booted on Ree in 1976 and the Nite Life ones came way later, it was certainly never around in 76-78

Sure i read that somewhere...I know the Soul Wax was a true boot (bought mine in 1975) Edited September 5, 2012 by jim g

dthedrug Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 HI ALL Pets info spot on, these 2 records were massive in 74 and like most I had to have the Bootleg,Stanley Mitchell being a bench mark of a top NORTHERN SOUL RECORD (if one was needed?) with a superb Detroit beat, the thing with Bootlegs back then was once BOOTED the record was not played, this was good in one way as the price of original records fell, but I really think some records should have still got spanked, as the tempo was bang on, the same thing goes with SAXIE RUSSAL, How many years would have passed by if the oldies nights had not been introduced, a wise move me thinks, as clearly the oldies nights at the CASINO were the ultimate in NORTHERN SOUL says I DAVE...PS the B side of Stanley Mitchel made it in it's own right and makes this record as a classic must have?
