Dean Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 A few randoms: An old Attic spin, one that belts out a good floor feel. This has been a fav of mine for a long time, never tired of it: Been playing through recently records I forgot I had, this stuck out as sounding huge now: Attic spin for Steve L, picked one up as soon as I could after he started playing this: Propper gritty dancer, written by J D Bryant. Last one for now, playing more and more ballads at home, exceptional ballad: 2
Dean Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Couple of You tube links to go with above post: Trade martin - Moanin Kenny Carter 2
Peter99 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 The cleanest, mintest record I have ever owned was Cracking up Over You - R Hamilton. Black RCA looked brand new. Sold it to me mate for £20 years ago. Peter

Guest Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 1987 RCA Corporation. nice demo sorry about the blured pictures ... not sure what happened there 1
Tony A Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Not bad for $1, pity they put the price on the cover. 1
Dean Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 A few more pulled out from boxes not often opened! If I'm honest I still have a liking for this but don't think I'd want to hear it out, better as a fond memory to play at home: Posted an issue of this already, but could listen to this on a loop: From an age when instrumentals really mattered, and I'd still dance to this (If there's a Lynn Bonnett on here - Why?): A Little more obscure in my opinion: Great ender that I don't think ever really had its day: Inferior version but never the less just really enjoyed playing this again, so thought it worth including in this post: 1
Dean Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Anybody hear this played out anywhere ? Love it, don't think I knew it before 5 mins ago but both sides quality 1
Scotters Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Not quite mastered the art of label photos and uploading on here, but here's a few RCA 45's I've picked up in recent years since I got bitten by the bug! The Celestrals - Keep your hands off my baby / Chain reaction The Trumains - Ripe for the pickin' Sonny Til - Tears and misery 2
Tony A Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Love it, don't think I knew it before 5 mins ago but both sides quality Comes under the cheapie bracket, as most of my collection does. Wouldn't know it's value now but was cheap when I got it. Value anyone. Re the Bobby Bell. ?????
Guest Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Different but still cheap, Same as my earlier post Tony ... the obvious difference is the label colour however mine was released a year later than yours. I also have the 12" from a later date. Its at my ex's and from memory I think that is the same colour as mine 7". It would be interesting to see that release date as it has the orig cut and a remix on the flip (from memory the remix is shite). proper Yate stuff .... love it

Dean Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Opened up a long closed box to come across these. Thought worth posting as later curiosities even tho outside of the OVO class: Laura Greene re-issue, I think mid-late 70s? Dean Courtney British reissue demo: And the strange MaxiMillion series (are there others in this series?). Exciters - Blowing up my mind Ray Paige - Aint No Soul Beverley Ann - You've Got Your Mind On Other Things
Tiberius Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted with a label scan by Dean in post #3. Susan Barrett - A Grain Of Sand
Tiberius Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Willie Kendrick - What's That On Your Finger 3
Benji Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Freddie Paris - Face It Boy It's Over Also done by Nancy Wilson, called face it girl it's over (for obvious reasons). flip to "end of our love" on capitol. Here's another RCA beat ballad goodie, I don't think I'll ever get tired of listening to it. Peggy March - Losin' my touch

Re the Bobby Bell. ????? Thought I'd got one for $1.99 https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=bobby+bell+don%27t+come+back+to+me

Here's another RCA beat ballad goodie, I don't think I'll ever get tired of listening to it. Using your criteria here, beat ballad goodie + done by others + don't think I'll ever get tired of listening to it = Gwen Stacey - Ain't Gonna Cry No More

Craig W Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Gil Bernal This is worth fighting for RCA 9261 Just listen to the lyrics on this song its enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Good enough to be a national anthem. Absolutely stunning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK17tqXQt6E
Guest Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Oh! Look...label variations...with apologies to label completists
