An area I am completely devoid of any real knowledge .....but does anyone know what was the original Ja. label for "Behold" (Wirl, or Sunshine). I know it came out on Capitol at the end of 62 in the US.

Sunshine is the original label, and the original recording, Steve.

The version on Capitol is a slightly later re-recording, produced in New York by by Luther Dixon, no less.

Not much to choose between either in terms of quality, although my own slight prerefence is for the Sunshine cut.

Thanks Tony. The Dixon production is a bit of a novelty since it was Dec 62 right just before he released stuff on his Ludix label.

Don't bother with the Wirl 45. Sound quality is abysmal.
