Having trouble pricing this one, The Cavaliers - Hold To My Baby - RCA black issue.

I know how rare these issues are, but this one is only VG (plays better) with ringwear on the label.

I would say £200 in mint so what, £75 in this condition?

Not one of the rarer titles on black issue although harder than the wlp for sure. I'd have thought ebay £150ish for EX/M- but you could still get £75 for yours. Worth that for the flip imo.

i sold one mint for £100 a few months ago on here..only one pm for it ..demo rarer imo

Have to disagree with you there Dave, think the ratio is 10 to 1 demos against issues, well of those that have passed through my hands - stands to reason that there are thousands of RCA white demos about against a handful of stock copies.

Tiberius, thanks for the info also.

Take a look on popsike Pete. More stock copies than you might imagine.

:shhh: HI ALL...PETE As you are aware I don't sell many records these days & I collect UK. However I have a few US label records both easy and hard to find or in my case only buy if cheap?

I have both CAVALERS Northern Soul records one RCA, "I HOLD TO MY BABY" is a true classic, and I actually got the bootleg of it,

A few weeks ago in the SOULSOURCE FOR SALE, I got a black issue in VG+ and 2 other records maybe 3, from a DETROIT DEALER for $100, I think he wanted $30 for it, if you check the last week of July you should find out,

I can't believe that it was so cheap as a black issue, as i looks & plays great, was this just LUCK? :g: DAVE

you just got lucky i think dave................... i dont think theres been a `hit` of stock copies as such although as joe ( pikey) says that dude in allentown has some.. just turns up randomly over the years and months in various places.. just not that rare.... the `A` side is good imo but its the flip that blows me away shame i couldn`t afford to keep it.. always buy em back for dave kil`s price tho

Sounds expensive Pete, I was knocking out EX/Less than mint for £100 - 110 I reckon about £50.00-ish

HI Lads first things first, Pete don't be daft, trade it, Mick might want it, it might be better than my copy if I sold mine for £60 you get £50 I get the record + £10, I think the £100 is right for vg+

My $100 got the following "hold to my baby" - CAVALIERS, ISSUE. "I bet you" - Billy Butler issue,VG++

Lee Rogers - "cracked up"EX, Bobby Sheen "something new to do" WB ISSUE VG+ Not bad,

I really don't think luck has anything to do with it, I think that to much attention has been put on mint records, it leaves many records left alone gathering dust, also the trend to move away from Northern Soul, has left many people unaware that there are some classics out there cheap, and if you have never had them or only had a cd, there are some excellent B sides out there oh yes and never got played, and I buy what I like not whats popular or current, if I could afford the records BUTCH plays I would be a top dj and that will never happen, hence I buy cheap but quality soul, and most are records that I have had before and want them back?

I could have any rare record I wanted from Mick, but all that would achieve is yet another collection he has put together, as this will be my last collection I do it my way, it's a personal thing, I still buy from Mick by the way, I just avoid all dealers who will always have a record for you to lust over, one addiction is enough for me? and vinyl is more addictive than stimulants and more expensive with no cure, trust me on that as I am expert on addiction? and going off on tangents?

DAVE K

Yeah after reading all this I'll stick £40 on it
