Sanquine Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Nothing else to it other than just love it. The label's fasinate me. The feeling of satisfaction I get when I find that record I've been looking for, and the challenge of searching for it on the rarest label, money permitting of course. The excitement waiting for it to arrive on your door mat! Never ending alway's something else you want! I especially love looking for and collecting foreign label's and if it's from a country you wouldn't expect that's even better. Very frustrating hobbie though, as you can't alway's afford what you want. May collecting alway's continue. Karen.
steve z Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 many people on the soul scene collect for different reasons. maybe your are a dj? addicted? relish the competition? nothing else to spend your money on? what are your honest reasons? Shane Hi Shane ,stop keep dangling the bait for me Started collecting when I was 14 using my paper-rounds money.Stopped when I was 25 married by then etc.Restarted about 15 years ago, still collecting However I had not stopped listening to "northern"in the drought years, tapes ,radio, going out etc. When I started again I tried to collect records that were new to me and fresh to my ears........I still do. ITS IN MY BLOOD is the reason I collect ATB Stevie Z
Rbman Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Sometimes I think because I want to be poor ........
Ged Parker Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 many people on the soul scene collect for different reasons. maybe your are a dj? "Maybe" thats about right addicted? Definately relish the competition? Definately not what I collect is not related in any way to what others collect so not a competition in my view. A challenge maybe more accurate, a challenge to get what I want from any source. nothing else to spend your money on? You are having a laugh here Shane surely what are your honest reasons? I collected all of Dave Bowies single's up to 1976 when I saw the light and started to seriously collect northern so I guess I have always been a collector just the genre that has changed
Guest Stuart T Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Because a lot of the records I buy are, or were at the time when bought, otherwise unavailable. And I just got into the habit of buying 7" vinyl in preference to any other format as a result.
