I love DJ records - the early ones I mean, where they utilise old rocksteady and reggae backing tracks and turn them into something completely new and different; it probably all started for me with "Double Barrel" back in 1971. When you scratch the surface you'll find an incredible quantity of DJ records but here for you are some of the best ever made. Let's be honest, I could have filled the whole thing up with U-Roy alone, but there are some awesome cuts here and also some interesting curiosities such as Alton Ellis becoming a toaster with Bam Bye and the only rare record on the UK Sioux label by Lloyd The Matador. Best of the lot? Probably a toss up between 'Rock Fort Shock', Scotty's 'Sesame Street' and I-Roy's 'Hot Bomb', but that's just me. Earliest cut here is probably D. Tony Lee's 'Cool Cool Rocksteady' on the tiny Collins Downbeat label from 1968, the latest is the Lone Ranger Studio 1 cut from the late 70's, but most tracks come from the golden period of 1970 to 1973.

Yeah it's a goo tune mate, do a search for a track called "Skylarking", it's the original of this, then one called "Crabwalking" by Prince Jazzbo which is another Dj version
