Anoraks Corner Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) OK, first and foremost, this one did not come via his son, who sold those recent-press acetates a few years ago on here (whatever happened to him in the end?). This track was also not in his possession/files, is totally unreleased and not available anywhere else...a true exclusive. This acetate came from John Anderson almost a decade ago, so is guaranteed 100% original. It is on a 10" Roosevelt Music publishers acetate (see pic attached) and is in great condition...no flaking and plays mint, loud and proud. It was recorded mid-60s (at a guess) at Allegro Studios 1650 Broadway NYC and comes complete with the original typed lyric sheet - words by Jimmy Radcliffe and Buddy Scott. It is called, 'BREAKAWAY'...no it is nothing to do with the classic track/lyric of the same name by Jimmy on UA. This track is a complete take at 2:06 long and an uptempo (not manic!) solid NYC Soul tune of that era. Northern Soul in style...rattling tambourines, guitar breakdowns, catchy chorus and an uncredited male vocal group behind him as well. An Ideal DJ exclusive and strong enough to play at a nighter, and of course wonderful for home use...great vocal performance. An edited soundfile is available to serious enquiries only. £1000...and I'll cover the courier fees! Edited August 22, 2012 by Anoraks Corner 2
