"I hearby swear that I will never ever buy another record at a nighter/soulnight,"

I would say that I have a pretty good ear for music(the type I like anyway)...I can spot a bargain on the net, no problemo...and I can wheel and deal as good as any other collector...great stuff plops onto my doormat on a regular basis. So I can only surmise that....There is deffo somehing very very wrong with the box that I use to carry my newly purchased records home from venues in.

I very carefully place my freshly aquired awesome tunes into it...close the lid securely and place it lovingly in the car boot.

On arriving home, I, smiling smugly start to remove these superb tunes from said box and one by one place them on the deck... my audience waits with baited breath....and a knowing smirk.

As if by magic, they have been transformed into shite and utter garbage during the journey home. Some have become too embarassingly bad even to put in the sales box.

I know they were good...I listened to them...I heard the great beat, the wonderful vocals and superb instrumentation on every one of them...

Do others have this problem????

you don't hear the shit that's actually on the turntable ..... you hear some brilliant tune off the tape instead ....... SOLD

Buying records at an allnighter, is rather like making love to a beautiful woman.

In the morning they dont seem quite as appealing as they did in the dark, and after a few glasses of ale.

So Linda, do tell what the offending articles are so we can all avoid the same mistake :wicked:

Think it's common name is 'Allniteritis'

Common symptons include Ageing maturity, glue ear, Tinititus, 'chewing gum ache' and sleep deprevation (usually coupled with talking shite), which are enhanced and aggrevated by any unfounded belief that you have excess cash burning a hole in your pockets whistling.gif

(though dodgy headphones or run down batteries in record players could also be to blame) whistling.gif

Maybe you could bring your player with you ....the one with the run down batteries & dodgy headphones....give em a listen...theyre real nice whistling.gif
