Dave Moore Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Could anyone in UK point me in the direction of genuine new styli for the 500v3 carts? I'm aware that Stanton have discontinued them and that there are 'generic' Chinese ones available but I need the genuine article. I don't want the carts - just the styli. Any help appreciated. Regards, Dave

Dave Moore Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Hi Don - Link didn't work Mate? Regards, Dave
Dave Moore Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Yep, They're the little badgers! Thing is I don't need a link to a shop or website. I need a link to someone who has 100% got them in current stock. They'll all take your CC or Paypal payment but how many have actually got the little buggers. Anyone know of an outlet that definitely has them? Regards, dave

Fookers! Might have to look at Shure's. Thanks anyway Mate. I've contacted them outside of their site, we'll see if they have any. Regards, Dave
Cheltsoulnights Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 shure 75sc are far superior or get the Polish replacement styli with diamond not sapphire
Kris Holmes Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 shure 75sc are far superior or get the Polish replacement styli with diamond not sapphire I've never even heard of a Shure 75SC? What do they look like?
Dave Moore Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 I've never even heard of a Shure 75SC? What do they look like? I can't find 'em either. I found a replacement for the V3 stylus but I can't get confirmation of whether they will fit the carts 100% properly? Here's the stylus by Japanese firm Kayowa that's advertised as a replacement. Can anyone confirm that they've used them? https://www.ebay.com/itm/REPLACEMENT-STYLUS-TO-FIT-STANTON-500-505-CARTRIDGE-MkII-and-V3-/160857912813?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Performance_DJ_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2573e0f5ed#ht_1951wt_1186 Any help appreciated guys. Regards, Dave I ordered them before (thinking I was gonna save some money) but was unhappy with the sound quality, it sounded distorted even compared to the old needles I replaced. I ended up ordering the newer rounder shape genuine Stanton ones to replace them with a few weeks later. So I didn't actually save any money at all
Kris Holmes Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 like this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stanton-N500-Replacement-Stylus-for-500-V3-Cartridge-Factory-Sealed-213840-/390454804132?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae8eb7ea4 1
Dave Moore Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 like this one https://www.ebay.com/...=item5ae8eb7ea4 That link is to the original Stanton 500 stylus that is used on the v3 carts. It's that very stylus that I want to replace. It's a replacement for this specific stylus that I'm looking for. Kris, where did you get yours and how long ago since you bought them Mate? REgards, Dave
Monkey Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 the true Stanton Stylus is only now available with the cartridge and comes in a pack priced at £59 in the UK and in stock (not my stock a friend has a pro dj store) just PM me if any use and I will send the contact details
John Elias Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Hey Dave give these a ring,I find them helpful at www.djkit.com see you in 3 J

REgards, Dave can you not just order them off that ebay listing I posted? i bought mine at the start of the year from a local DJ store here in NZ. So you mean to say that they have stopped selling them?? That will really cramp my style when these ones wear out....... stupid Stanton, cheap for a reason I guess. Seems like a good time to ditch Stanton & go Shure (which is what most of mine are).

Once customers realise they can't replace the stylus the carts become useless and they'll be stuck with the cart/stylus combo on their shelves. . Looks like it's gonna be another set of Grados then.. Regards, Dave .
Monkey Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 the pack pictured was in my hand today ... are in stock ... UK based
Cheltsoulnights Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 v3 styli are pretty crap as they sit too close to the vinyl and can catch. This is probably one of the reasons discontinued. The Kayowa ones ive had and they sounded very tinny. waste of money. The ones we sell are not as good as the v2 originals but they are the nearest we have tried. Best switch to the shure M35x they sound better. or if you want to splash out i have a new but discontinued matched pair of top of the range stanton carts on headshells with 2 spare styli in a case for £175 (one set only)
Dave Moore Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 the pack pictured was in my hand today ... are in stock ... UK based But unfortunately it's not what I'm looking for, and at 59UKP your Mate should wear a mask to work. Regards, Dave
