Could anyone in UK point me in the direction of genuine new styli for the 500v3 carts?

I'm aware that Stanton have discontinued them and that there are 'generic' Chinese ones available but I need the genuine article. I don't want the carts - just the styli.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

Dave

Yep,

They're the little badgers!

Thing is I don't need a link to a shop or website. I need a link to someone who has 100% got them in current stock. They'll all take your CC or Paypal payment but how many have actually got the little buggers.

Anyone know of an outlet that definitely has them?

So have the last couple of sites that I've been in touch with but they actually don't! Fookers!

Might have to look at Shure's.

Thanks anyway Mate. I've contacted them outside of their site, we'll see if they have any.

I've never even heard of a Shure 75SC? What do they look like?

I can't find 'em either.

I found a replacement for the V3 stylus but I can't get confirmation of whether they will fit the carts 100% properly?

Here's the stylus by Japanese firm Kayowa that's advertised as a replacement. Can anyone confirm that they've used them?

Any help appreciated guys.

I ordered them before (thinking I was gonna save some money) but was unhappy with the sound quality, it sounded distorted even compared to the old needles I replaced.

I ended up ordering the newer rounder shape genuine Stanton ones to replace them with a few weeks later. So I didn't actually save any money at all :(

That link is to the original Stanton 500 stylus that is used on the v3 carts. It's that very stylus that I want to replace. It's a replacement for this specific stylus that I'm looking for. Kris, where did you get yours and how long ago since you bought them Mate?

REgards,

Dave

can you not just order them off that ebay listing I posted? i bought mine at the start of the year from a local DJ store here in NZ. So you mean to say that they have stopped selling them?? That will really cramp my style when these ones wear out....... stupid Stanton, cheap for a reason I guess. Seems like a good time to ditch Stanton & go Shure (which is what most of mine are).

Most of these online outlets have no stock. You pay them, then the dramas start. Once customers realise they can't replace the stylus the carts become useless and they'll be stuck with the cart/stylus combo on their shelves. . Looks like it's gonna be another set of Grados then..

v3 styli are pretty crap as they sit too close to the vinyl and can catch. This is probably one of the reasons discontinued.

The Kayowa ones ive had and they sounded very tinny. waste of money.

The ones we sell are not as good as the v2 originals but they are the nearest we have tried.

Best switch to the shure M35x they sound better.

or if you want to splash out i have a new but discontinued matched pair of top of the range stanton carts on headshells with 2 spare styli in a case for £175 (one set only)
