Guest Timothy Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 "INCLUDES: Certificate of Authenticity signed by Ed Wolfrum and an Ed Wolfrum, United Sound business card from Ed's late 60s years at United." hi Scott it look's like your tomangoe's is a styrene record, am i correct? originals should be vinyl. look's like mr. wolfrum may have been pulling your pecker. best regards Timothy
Sharlow45 Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 Yes you are right, that delta number dates it to 1975 I think. [/quote Hi guys, This record is definitely a polystyrene pressing from Monarch in LA. I talked this over with Wolfrum. Wolfrum specifically remembers Gino Washington coming into United, sitting down with Ed and Bill Herdon and listening to this record. Gino had brought it into United complaining that the record had wow and flutter and wanted to find out why. The guys explained to Gino that the run of this record had been stamped off center, causing the wow and flutter. It is possible that Gino then redid the pressing at Nashville after that meeting. Ed is currently trying to get a hold of Gino to confirm the story. The only way that this record could be a bootleg is if someone came to Ed's house and did some sort of switch. That story seems unlikely, especially considering the fact that the record I have is pressed off center. I will give you guys and ebay an update as soon as we can get a hold of Gino. Scott
