Codfromderby Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 anyone know of a version of skiing in the snow, on uk label from the 70,s, possibly 80,s, not wigans ovation, and not the female high energy thing, doing my head in
Mick Holdsworth Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Ther was a UK band who did a version around that time. I think they were from the West Midlands, possibly Walsall. I was seeing a girl who knew one of the group but I couldn't tell you who the group were. I never heard the version, but I understand It was not a Soul / Northern record in any stretch of the imagination. Other than that, the only other version apart from the Invitations, Wigans Ovation and Laura Pallas would be the Beach Girls. Cheers Mick 1
Guest Gogs Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I like the laura pallas version (feel free to shoot me down)

Alas, no - and I haven't a clue what happened to her (it was 25 years ago). As to the record, I've trawled tinterweb and I can't find any reference to any other versions apart from the four above mentioned versions .... unless you count this one by Sid Saint John !! Is he singing over the Wigans Ovation backing that was knocking about in the 70's ?? Cheers Mick
