Jim & Lee - Adam & Eve - Frontpage Question

Hi,

i recently dug up a 45 by Jim & Lee called Adam & Eve, i allready had it on the Enjoy label. this 1 is on the frontpage label.

however the label states: Jim & James as artists, scratshed out with a marker.

it looks exactly like this:

https://www.ebay.nl/i...=item564a78e318

except for the difference in the name, also the label on both sides is for "Adam & Eve"

the release is the same as my Enjoy record with I'll never change on the other side.

i checked the markings & it seems its pressed with the same matrix as my Enjoy version.

anybody know something about it?

thanks.

The copies on Front Page are normally credited as "Jim And Lee". I've never seen the copy as "Jim And James". But this must be a mistake and there are same mistake on the artist's name on the other copies, such as Al Robinson's 45 on Palsar label, some of which state "Shine" instead of "Al Robinson". I guess the copy of "Jim And James" is the first press and then the company must have found the mistake and changed the credit to "Jim And Lee"

BTW, I've never seen a copy on Enjoy label which must be rare. As you may know, they have another 45 on Smash label titled "Let's Go Baby / When Lovers Meet" released in 1967.

I've never seen it on enjoy either. It's common on Front Page. Front Page was a Bobby Robinson (new york) run label distributed by Stax / Volt. So it makes sense that it might have come out on Enjoy first.

thanks picky & boba, yes picky seems like a likely scenario that its a first pressing with faulty label.

see the Enjoy version here:

if you are intrested here's you change, lol.

maybe they made that one especially for the dutch market since it says: distribute in holland by ...etc. made in the USA

I think this Enjoy copy was released in Holland because the record number of 1002 in the US Enjoy discography is by "Chuck Paulin" in 1962/3, and a matrix number of FP-105 is shown on this Enjoy copy which means the original copy should be from Front Page (FP) label.
