Rob Moss
The song is called "Where am I going". Kim Weston's version is on her latest Motown cd. "Anthology".Check there for writing credits etc. I suspect the song is from a film. Link to comment Social source share
Guest
Sorry Brett!! You'll have to pay a visit to The Central Soul Club or at the Greatstone night! Latter probably a lot closer! Guest
As for the first track, it's a black artist, who's father was an accomplished musician, on a very well known label. This version was not used in a film, but maybe the Kim Weston version was.See if anyone can guess who it is! In my opinion it's a good track that grows on you the more you listen to it. Don't mind taking a little slack for it ! Just trying to keep it interesting! Link to comment Social source share

"Anthology".Check there for writing credits etc. I suspect the song is from a film. It's from Sweet Charity - originally a stage play, made into a movie in 1969 - the song is credited "Words and music by Dorothy Fields and Cy Coleman" and is sung by the title character, played by Shirley Maclaine in the movie (I've got the soundtrack LP on MCA....and the film on DVD - one of my favourites of all time). Guest
Peggy? Isn't this Polly Brown - or are you c/uing it - one way of avoiding the horrible plastic Polydor group "labels" Polly, not Peggy...close enough! Honestly, I couldn't remember her name as I've got it on a horrible Dance Olympics '78 LP which only has the track names, not the artists. Came with a poster of the dancers involved and a certificate of participation! Link to comment Social source share
Paul R
Polly, not Peggy...close enough! Honestly, I couldn't remember her name as I've got it on a horrible Dance Olympics '78 LP which only has the track names, not the artists. Came with a poster of the dancers involved and a certificate of participation! Although Polly Brown was quite well known at the time as lead singer with Pickettywitch, it didn't stop her "blacking up" for publicity shots and TV appearences for that track. I don't know who the genius was that thought it up Paul Link to comment Social source share
