Wheel memories from 1960's forum members Torch/Casino from 1970's forum members Stafford from 1980's forum members Or are there a miss mash of tunes across decades in there, I personally listed the records that got me on the scene so I suppose they have a special meaning as oldies. I suppose what should have happened with this thread was YOU should have put some meaning to your choices, other wise it's just a list of Classic Northern. Example See my earlier reply for MY OLDIES - These what I heard played in youth club and got me collecting. Guest Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 The Entertainer was often played at the end of the alternative nights at the Regency Hotel in Gillingham back in 82-83, loved it for years but never knew who it was and thought the words were lonely entertainer, for years I went into Barnaby recordings in Gillingham and sang this to them, of course they had no idea what it was LOL, eventually after many years a friend of mine recognised the tune and bought me a copy back from America on one of his record trips. I have managed to get this played at most of the nighters around the country for me now, and played it myself at a few do's

A very old sound for me! Jesse Fisher was a Midlands Monster around 74, probably big everywhere but my memory fails me. Breakout.. the ultimate Youth Club record in Worcester circa 72. Real handdbag stuff. Odd; hated it then, but love it now.

My heart needs a break has always been a favourite of mine, it's one of those records with haunting qualities and the lyrics just mesmorize me. I enjoy Just Can't Live My Life, but it doesn't appeal to me like My Heart does...

Barry White production alright, was one of his first I think. B & S 1971, remember nicking it from shop I did my paper round in!!!!!
