hullsoul Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) Bit well know this but well worth an airing. Jimmy Bo Horne - I just Can't Speak. Was this a Pat B Clifton Hall spin? Seem to recall it was but might be confusing it. Peter Pete Stood at Lifeline last week & this came on & I turned to my mate & said "I can't believe I'm gonna say this? But I'm sick of hearing this out"............I was probably wrong but it is a bit over played imo. Cheers Martyn Edited August 31, 2012 by hullsoul

Cheers Martyn You're probably right Martyn - I did give it a bit of a health warning! I was going through some old suff at home - all damp sleeves and mucky ( ) and came accross a couple of bits by Jimmy and that prompted me. I think the one Pat B spun at Clifton Hall may have been If you don't Want my Love on Alston. Edited August 31, 2012 by Peter99
hullsoul Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) Sorry for lack of input but trouble with my internet connection & as usual got passed from pillar to post, wish I knew something about computers Really looking forward to tomorrow night at York Soul Club 6th Anniversary with Soul Sam,Keith Money & Arthur Fenn as guests............should hear some cracking stuff played. A cheapie from me today that sounds more like a four figure tune imo, still gets plenty of plays after all these years & quite right to. dthedrug Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 HI ALL Well this is a Rare night, I was going to put up as my pick the MARCELLS BLUE MOON PYE INTERNATIONAL, No a SOUL RECORD but a fantastic record that opened the door, so to say, to allow more black music to be issued, however right next to this great UK label I have my PYE 45's so I have picked this non soul record, but 100% NORTHERN DANCE, & RARE UK ONLY. The 1st time I heard this record, was when MICK SMITH SMITH played it to me, he found it at one of his junk shops that he discovered while driving around London, this was in-fact found in Watford, now I can't say he discovered this one (he did). however it is still one of the top 10 UK only records to be played it's rare and I want a nice copy of it, if any one has it for sale, Well SUMMER IS OVER, as such the AUTUM FALL WILL BE STARTED AS A NEW THREAD SOON. DAVE https://youtu.be/NKDFY664zVw

Both he - and apparently Mr Chandler, are extremely tight! Although I know a few people have other views of Gene. Oops, both nice tracks Martyn. Edited September 3, 2012 by Peter99

dthedrug Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 HI ALL, Well what a brilliant summer we have had, but all good thing;s come to a end, for the sonics on SOULSOURCE who may think I jest! I am not, think of Brother inmate, banged up deprived of a Mr WIPPEY, I remember the summer 75, we had just done the last drop off in LIECTERSHIRE /? IT WAS 7AM MONDAY MORNING, we had just joined the M1, stopped for breakfast at Forest East Services, and headed South, 1 mile from the Services, Old Bill had put up a road block, to cut a great chapter to shreds. Next thing I was facing 14 years in a maximum security prison, rubbing shoulder with Frankie Frazier, Harry Roberts (he kills coppers) John Mcvicar, they had just bought in the Cambridge rapist ( who was a always covered in piss, this was because Chris and myself just had to get a laugh each day) and hear DIDDY David Hamilton play TD VALANTINE "LOVE TRAP" as his record of the week, (from me book,"more than SKIN DEEP")? NO I am not playing TD Valentine, THIS THREAD WILL CLOSE AT 3.30am to-day & reopen at 3.45am now the kids are back at school, here comes the current bun. to end my RECORD FROM THE BOX, Is a classic 2 sided from AL TNT BRAGGS, not Earthquake, but "how long" VOCALION 9278, A MUST HAVE RECORD, ALWAYS SOUNDS FRESH, AND SHOULD BE REVIVED, As always Fantastic records that have been picked, again not 1 duff record to be found, you can see the effort that has gone with every posting, what you get every time is a quality soul record, THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR SHARING THESE WITH US ALL. ENJOY THIS ONE, DAVE K https://youtu.be/gnHrW6xKqzc 1
