Only Dreaming Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I saw him about 11 years ago at The Komedia in Brighton and he put on a superb performance. A true showman who had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand, and he didn't even play any of his Decca sides. Dave
Roburt Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) He usually doesn't do any of his 60's recordings ..... .... coz he never earned a cent from them (royalties never paid, etc). So he doesn't view them with any pleasure (unlike record collectors). I saw him live at 'Blues & Booze' in Wallingford (Oxfordshire) about 8 years back. Got to chat with him & at least he did sign the sleeves of some of the old records I took along. Edited July 24, 2012 by Roburt 1

Mike Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 "live" section may be of some use in helping spreading the word add the map info and it should show in "local " section as well to "local" members https://www.soul-sour...m/calendar/live bit late but for other live acts etc promoting types may be worth having a look at the front page news and article feature
Roburt Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Charles Bradley & his group (Daptone) were on at Grillstock (food + soul) on 1st July. Venue: Bristol Docks (city centre) ..... should have been great .... he was due on the main stage at 8pm ... think it was free entry but only guessing that as entry to docks area is usually free (& poss from 4 / 5 directions).
