Pete S Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Toots was over 2 hours late to the show we went to see. Disgraceful. He wondered why the place emptied early, everyone had to get trains and public transport home.

He was supposed to be appearing between 2200 and 2230. I didn't stick around to find out what actual time Dillon finally appeared, but a pal of mine did. Apparently no more than a handful of people were in attendance when he finally struck up his first song at just after 0400. Me, I'm surprised it was as many as a handful.... Things have improved a lot on the 'getting Jamaican artists to abide by a set showtime' front in recent years, but they still have a way to go. Having said that, it's been quite a while since I've seen a Toots show that hasn't started at or close to what might be considered a reasonable time, so anyone going to the 100 Club probably stands a fair chance of getting a bus or train home...
dthedrug Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Hi All A Jamaican 2 hours late Pete? Have you never heard of Jamaican time mate? All I can say about TOOTS is this, having seen many many Live acts, late or not, Toots is one of the top 5 of them all, his reputation of his live preformance is a must, having seen him 3 times his act was differant each time, yet all his songs are classic (in my opinion), The last time I saw him was in Wolverhampton, before the smoking ban? as I no longer smoke the weed, I got wrecked from the intake of passive smoke from the herb! However got realy into the vibe man, like truely amazing man like you no! I mean man it was well roots in it? DAVE 1
Wilxy Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) I remember such a scenario back in 1972 ish Bristol Top Rank, they were late and we had to get the train back to Newport, so missed half their performance.....seems to be a theme, with regard to "timekeeping" Edited July 22, 2012 by wilxy
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) they play middlesbourgh aug 2nd ...or possibly the 3rd, depending on what time they come on... Edited July 23, 2012 by TONY ROUNCE
