Grayman45 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Garland Green - Sending My Best Wishes (Spring) I have this in my box of all sorts. I have no idea where it came from, can't remember ever hearing it at a venue, couldn't even remember how it went. Anybody know anything about it - other than the fact that it's nowhere near as good as Girl I Love You!?
Guest trickbag Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I remember this from Birmingham Locarno¯»¿ Sunday Alldayers 1974 Mecca sound. Ain't heard this for years. been played, quotes by others. also on 2 ace/kent cd/lp. Garland Green í…½- The Spring Sides https://www.soulbluesmusic.com/garlandgreen.htm some info here. ricky.
Grayman45 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Thanks for that. I noticed someone on youtube mentioned Brum Locarno too.
Guest Paul Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I used to play it as a new release.. Very soulful track with a dramatic arrangement. It It should have been a lot more popular.
Sjclement Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 My introduction to Garland Green heard at Blue Rooms Sale 74 ish
boba Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Doesn't crop up on Popsike at all. because it doesn't sell for more than $20 and popsike only indexes those auctions. "just loving you" is the killer spring 45 he did imo. it wasn't his hit though.
Grayman45 Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 That makes sense. There was obviously plenty of issues around, or just wasn't popular. Probably more the latter
