This is what I play my records on at home. I have had this for about 3 years now. It is an Hitachi SDT-400 and was produced in Japan in the 1970s. It's retail cost back then was nearly £1100, it was top of the range and they are now very collectable.

I have a 30 year old Pioneer stack system, consists of tape to tape, radio, twin CD deck & 6 CD cartridge deck which was an add-on, amplifier, belt-drive record deck and graphic equaliser. I think I payed around £500.for it....the only thing ive changed is the big 4 way speakers, ive hooked it into a Bose Acoustimass sub-woofer and cube array speakers which take up a lot less room and sound like thunder, and ive just changed the belt for the 2nd time in 30 years. I also use the system as TV surround. Ive thought about buying a new system but its still working fine and god knows how much it would cost to replace.
