Just found a King Coleman 45 that I can't find any info about anywhere:

King Coleman - Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea / Mashed Potato Man - VI-TOSE 102

I've found mentions of two other 45s on the VI-TOSE label (#100 and #101), but no mention of #102.

"Mashed Potato Man" on this disc is by the way not the same tune as "The Mash Potato Man" on TOGO, "(Do The) Mashed Potatoes" on DADE or "Rock Gospel Mash" on KING.

Any further info? Sounds early 60's, 1963-ish.

Moody mid-tempo on the a-side and uptempo r&b dancer on the b-side.

i have the careless five on 101 if you need info on that for some reason

Is it any good? Is the info below correct?

VI-TOSE 100 - Cal Richards - Let Him Get His Own Girl / Small Town Girl

VI-TOSE 101 - Careless Five - (Do You Love Me) Tell Me Right Now / Summertime

VI-TOSE 102 - King Coleman - Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea / Mashed Potato Man

I read somewhere that the Cal Richards 45 is from 1965, but don't know if that is right?

The vocalist mentions The Jerk and The Twine, so 1965 sounds about right. It COULDN'T be 1963, as those songs didn't yet exist then.

Ofcourse, you're totally right about that. 1965-ish it is.

the devil and the deep blue sea was an old cab calloway number from the 1930`s

Indeed, it's a version of that Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler penned standard.
