Chalky Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 a fellow member, funkysoul, asked if I would help out buy uploading an unknown track for him, here it is, anyone identify it? https://soundcloud.com/chalkster/unknown-r-b-track
Robbk Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 It sounds like a Five royales-style cut. But I don't recognise the lead singer's voice. I'd bet I have that record. But it's probably unlikely that I won't remember the title and group. Could easily be: "I Won't Stop Loving You", but also could have lots of other possible titles.
Chalky Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 The guy who wanted me to upload the track to find out what it is has since found out who it is but hasn't told me who.
Kris Holmes Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 The guy who wanted me to upload the track to find out what it is has since found out who it is but hasn't told me who. he will probably tell you once he has scored himself a copy, don't sweat about it.
boba Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 It sounds like a Five royales-style cut. yeah but it also sounds like yakity sax
Chalky Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 he will probably tell you once he has scored himself a copy, don't sweat about it. I'm not sweating Kris, it wasn't me who wanted to know, certainly not after a copy.
SHEFFSOUL Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 sounds very average to me..like a b side..of a more famous tune..
Chalky Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 It is worse than average. I asked him to post what it was. It'll be taken down off my sound cloud soon as I need some space.
Guest dundeedavie Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 no idea, and no inclination to find out either
Kris Holmes Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 i actually kind of like it but it sounds like about a hundred other r&b/jump blues 45s i own
Stoopdownbaby Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 sorry I was away over the weekend. the artist is called "The Centuries" and the title is "I Won't Stop Loving You". thanks to all for your help!
Guest JJMMWGDuPree Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 That sounds distinctly 50s to me. Personally I love it, it sounds like the soundtrack of my life after I discovered Radio Luxembourg.
