I couldn't find the previous thread about people who'd bought records thinking it was top notch single only to find they'd paid for a lemon.......

Here's one you'd need to read carefully before parting with hard earned cash

Back in the early 80's I'm sure Sam used to play a record which I thought was either by Masters Plan and or entitled Do I have to Dance All Night. I did in fact purchase a record by Maters Plan called Do I have to Dance all Night - but I'm sure it wasn't the same record that Sam used to play.

:D That's funny - wonder if a few people fell for that before the days of the net?

I suppose Del Capris on Kama Sutra / Ronjerdon is an obvious one. I remember someone in the back bar at W*gan who bit my arm off for a copy of The Nights - Let There Be Love on Liittle Star.

He kept furtively looking at the flipside...

Nice one Chris!

This one pops up quite often here in Germany. I almost had a heart attack the first time I saw it! Nowadays whenever I see it it just raises my pulse for a second

Like both of these but big price difference (manny's 5th guide), so well spotted.

Can't find a clip but The Younghearts "A Little Togetherness" on Minit is totally different to the Canterbury.

I get the impression that this a Germany only single release I couldn't see it on the UK or US CP discography, what were they thinking ?

The Minit release comes from their album "Sweet Soul Shakin'" there's a version of the Tempos "Countdown here I come" not surprising the 2 groups intermingled under the auspiciousness of the intrepid Bobby Sanders. Neither are like the Canterbury productions, same choons though.

Thanks Chris, used to collect Minit and totally forgot about "Count Down"

It might be due to my advancing years but quite often I've had to do a double take of Darrow Fletcher's What good am I without you and What have I got now there is several pounds price difference between the two!!!

Countdown on Minit is a good tune in its own right there's also a good (slow) version of Tend to Buissness

Yes it is the original version and each to their own.......don't stop it from being inferior in every way to the re-worked 70's version though and the fact that i don't think i have ever heard the original version played out........ever.

Not 100% sure if the re-worked cut is even 70's?? it was taken from their 1970 album "Good Vibes" which would suggest it was recorded back end of 1969??
