yes, its been reissued probably by pat adams himself! would make a change from the usual bootleggers wouldn`t it? be careful because its on a nearly identical orange PAP label, the major difference being no white address info writing round the bottom portion of the label. be careful its a jungle out there! dont know of any recent boots or re-issues but, a welll known dealer has got an original for auction with the other side labels on both sides, with everything man crossed off on one side in marker pen and i need love written in biro, its in vg+ condition, and its only up to a grand with six days to go

Must say that I prefer Daybreak's "Everybody Get Off" on Prelude (also produced by Patrick Adams) to either side of the PAP 45... plus it's about £990 cheaper if going by Pat Brady's current auction price...

Bought a printer cartridge yeterday, three pounds fifty 2.99 postage second class from Portsmouth.

Maybe Goldmine better bet for 7's copy (if they have any). Postage would have been better, but as you say on it's way now.

i'd say your right-ish on the date. my mate got one not long after it broke at wigan, he did tell me what he paid - quite a lot for a 45 in those days...shame that a few years ago he sat on it and cracked it - now it resides in a frame on his wall lol

It didn't get played at Wigan till later, it was in 80/81 I would say. It was actually reviewed as a new release in echoes, I think maybe on the jazz page!!!

Did your mate buy it of Searling at Wigan by any chance?? Colin Law did, he had a choice of this or Sammy Gaha for £50, which as you say was a fortune, particularly for an apprentice joiner like he was!!

Searling had a habit of having one or more of his cover ups for sale in those days, but only to certain people (i.e. anyone who would pay the money and promise not to uncover them )

Is this genuinely rare or are there loads of copies residing in collections all over the country ??? It's certainly one that is very very rarely listed but I do know of quite a few copies locally to me.

It always been one, that when I was at Crazy Beat, disco collectors would enquire about - because of the Patrick Adams connection - but have absolutely no luck in tracking down.

Yes as you say,along the same lines as "Flowers-For real" ect,

there about but tucked up in collections as you say,then one comes out

and everyman and his dog wants a copy then you know what happens next

UNFORTUNATELY THOUGH,YOU WEREN`T ENTIRELY WRONG,AS I DID PUT A SLIGHTLY WARPED BUT STILL VERY PLAYABLE COPY OF AL CHRISTIAN`S "IM A LONELY MAN" ON CHANT RECORDS IN A WARM OVEN TO `STRAIGHTEN IT OUT`.
