Jordirip Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Thanks for the invitation to share the music Dave It was a great experience and thoroughly enjoyable one at that mate ! Apologies upfront for the over use of the word Fantastic .lol That looks like a great show from the playlist Nev. I know what you mean with over use of certain words, mine is usually "bollocks" or "shite" when I do the radio show, luckily that nice man Mr. Plumb manages to cut them out. Jordi 1
Colsoul Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 really enjoyed the show i wish things were as upfront in the north east venues, but alas , col 2

Guest ackers Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 not me, i think Nev,s choices were aimed at a wide cross section of soul music fans, but one thing's for sure it was 2 hours of top top quality!!!!
Guest NEV Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Paul hit the nail on the head ..it was a set that I put together to try and cover most bases /genres ,rather than 30 records that nobody would know . It's a "northern soul " radio show with a lot of regular followers ,so hopefully they heard something they knew and liked and also had a taste of a few things they didnt ? I have to say though ,not having been in a radio studio before ,let alone been part of a live show ..it was amazing to see just how much goes into putting it all together and how good a job Dave does to make sure it all goes smoothly ..despite all his dashing around from computer to computer ,fiddling about ,checking the clock and making sure he's back in the chair to announce the next record ...Amazing stuff indeed !
Guest chris Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) not me, i think Nev,s choices were aimed at a wide cross section of soul music fans, but one thing's for sure it was 2 hours of top top quality!!!! I agree Paul ...i would love to go to any northeast venue and hear half of these tunes played...but alas Edited June 27, 2012 by chris
Guest ackers Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Chris it,s the problem without an answer as far as the N/E goes, 20 to 30 people who are interested in quality, rare, upfront tunes it ,but i class it as our own underground scene, im'e just thankfull that the lad's at the RAFA acommodate me,try not to take it too seriously any more. when i stop enjoying it,i'll give it up! but as long as there's people like Nev playing playlists like the above that may be some time away yet.
