Got this message when trying to bid on a record; "Unfortunately, the seller cannot accept your bid on this item. This can happen for a couple of reasons. For example, the seller may be limiting how many items you can buy from him or her in a specific time period".

Why do you not want to make money?

Don't you get the same message when trying to bid on an US-only auction?

Or if he's in another country and he can't be arsed posting over seas

He does send to Europe so I don't understand, it's the first time I've had this message. I've only left one negative feedback ever and that was a year ago, maybe it was him (can't remember) and he blocked me? I can't even send him a message trough Ebay.. It's his loss anyway.

I know a lot of ebay sellers get upset over this extra feedback thingy, the one where on top of the normal feedback the buyer can also give a zero to 5 star rating. I know a few that have blocked bidders over this. If you watch your star rating as the feedbacks are being left you know exactly who has left what. I think ebay make out that the seller can't see this?

I must admit it does niggle me when I post a record on the same day as payment is made & the buyer gives me a 3 star rating for doing so  Another one is when I make a mistake & under charge on postage to then receive a low star rating.

I think the default with some listing engines for ebay is only to ship to own country and if they use one of those without understanding this no one outside their country can bid regardless of where they say they'll ship to. I have had this in the past with someone I bought from regularly. Luckily I had his email address so got it sorted but not until after my snipe hadn't gone in.

You've been blocked by the seller - I've blocked over 50 people from bidding on my eBay sales - mainly Russians and French...

Not necessarily

This is 'normally' what happens when somebody doesn't want bids from a particular individual....

That DSR/s bollox on eBay really, really effs it up - people can operate on low FB - some people are down to 93% / 94% BUT it's the DSRs that really do the damage for sellers - if eBay see your DSRs dropping below a certain critical point, then yr selling account is limited - it's just a huge ball ache from beginning to end...

I don't use the DSR system when awarding FB for buys on the bay, if I'm overall happy with a buy - I leave +ve FB - if there's an issue, I contact the seller and sort it - I don't feed into eBay's bullshit extra pointless 'control' by sticking the knife in with low DSRs after leaving a seemingly high FB - it's these DSRs that actually cause the damage...

..low FB itself seems to not actually matter that much anymore...I barely look at it...

Speaking as a man who's already lost £89.99 to moody Paypal chargebacks this week already - and it's only fugging Thursday...

Does it definitely have an effect, I look at some people's feedbacks and they've got like 50 negatives but ebay are still happy to let them go on, was just looking at one with 14 neutrals in the last week alone!

I charge less than the actual post rate, in fact I lose money on the post, how can anyone not give it 5 stars?
