Soulsmith Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Just picked this up off Moldie tonight. Brilliant track from '74 & a superb example of the artists using a completely un-necessary "whoo - hoo" to good effect. Any other examples out there?

tone5446 Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Don Downing's Dream World is pretty Whoo hooish and you can't ask for more with Woo Hoo by the Rockateens
Kev Connellan Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 How about Gladys Knight & Pips - Stop and get a hold of myself. more of a "hoo hoo ha ha" though great record
Ady Croasdell Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Gladys is great but the most orgasmic and original and superlative is the flip of Toni Lamarr's Just In The Nick of Time (also good) which is called It's Too Late on Buddah.
vnicepce Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Don Downing's Dream World is pretty Whoo hooish -thanks for that reminder-I saw this thread and was trying to think....Dream World is a stupendous track (IMO)
Guest Polyvelts Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 How's about 'Unwanted Love' by the Montclairs. Whoooo Hoooo !!
Bitchdj Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 for me you cant get a more heartfelt woo hoooooo than the opener on....STAGE IV - JUST ANOTHER GUY - MILLIE...sublime..... cookie
Epic Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 "And The Rains Came" - The Millionaires - plenty of whoo - hoo in there particularly on the intro. & of course not forgetting "The Whoo Hoo Song" - Jackie Wilson

Brilliant track from '74 & a superb example of the artists using a completely un-necessary "whoo - hoo" to good effect. Any other examples out there? Patti Austin's Take away the pain stain has an excellent WOOOOOOO right at the end as it's fading out. Will have to turn the volume right up to hear it tho.

Hi Kev, Sorry can't supply you with a sound file at the moment as i have disconnected the deck from the pc ready for next week, but i will put one up as soon as i can. If you want a quick snipet "Johnny Manship" has one on his site. Notice he has a demo for £30 for sale too. Still a bargin at that price i reckon !

And what a good category. A song with a decent "Who-ho" can't be bad!
