But what a piece of history, the first (I think) record ever put out by Berry & Smokey cat number G1 (probably for Gordy I'd say) in 1959. Manship has this down as about £400 in one of my guides, that'll be for a minter, not trashed like this & mine was. The lawsuit was probs coz Berry Gordy had leased "Bad Girl" to Chess for distribution, and they didn't like him pressing it up for local distribution in Detroit? steve

Wonder if Leonard Chess was personally involved in that? You cant keep a good man down for long though, I bet Berry never forgot about that. Aid.
