I find that hard to belive for " Papa Oh Mow Mow " especially if you listen to it now, But I was there from 73, So I know it to be true.... But the Instrumental of The Sharonettes version of "Going To A Go Go" now that was Good, & Still sounds good....Don't forget @ Wigan they Clapped to anything, Maybe it was to make an average tune sound better.... I remember when Billy Butler was on live @ Wigan there was Hand Clapping through most of his performance, I must admit most of it was Slow Handclapping, because he was below average....

Yea but Russ never played it as 5000 Volts!!!! He played it as "Black is Black 75 by The Tamiko's" & the Instrumental at that....otherwise Tina Charles could have been a Northern Soul Star....

If I remember rightly Tina Charles did have something played, one of her early numbers, a Biddu production.

This is correct. I have a vague recollection that John Manship championed something on UK CBS by her but the title evades my failing brain

Some of the floor fillers at Capitol coming in for some stick here. Antellects and TC and the Bricklayers meant poor old Trickester only had the stage to dance on as the floor was shoulder to shoulder.

As for Joey Di Lorenzo (fantastic Northern Soul record, who says they have to have soul?). For creating that buzzing atmosphere of a room full of people all clapping in time to a beat of a great dancing tune. There was none better IMO.

As for ones I dont like that fill floors (leaving aside the uber-dreadful Professionals - T.W.I.L.Y) I cant stand 'Crook his little finger', or 'Quicksand', yet whenever I hear them played the whole room seems to disagree with me.
