MarkWhiteley Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Want one. Got one? No. OK. How much would I be asked to pay if you did have one? £_______. How much? £_______. £_______?! Yes. Over my dead body!! (You fill in the blanks...)
Martyn Pitt Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Billy, Mark did have one for sale at the last Winsford, it was marked at £1500 I think.
MarkWhiteley Posted September 6, 2004 Author Posted September 6, 2004 Buggar!! Not be gettin' one o' them then!! Has it ever been booted? Not that I'd buy one or anything... (I would really, but shhhhhhhh, don't tell Gene!)
Guest Damien Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Well I don't like "Blacks wings" but would give lot for "I'll be waiting" b/w "Love Plays Funny Games" on Claire !
MarkWhiteley Posted September 6, 2004 Author Posted September 6, 2004 I didn't like 'Black Wings' a few months back. It started to grow on me after seeing the dancefloor reaction, but I've hammered 'West Coast Winners' to death and now it's really growing on me. I can't bring the other one to mind. Apparenly a friend played it last time I was out but I really can't remember. If my memory serves me well Joe D. auctioned one on Soulbid a few months back but I might be mistaken. Manship's price guide says £300 if this helps.
Guest Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Hayes Cotton was on a promo 7" a few years ago promoting a comp can't remember the lable but a mate of mine had a copy Derek
MarkWhiteley Posted September 6, 2004 Author Posted September 6, 2004 If you mean Black Wings, all copies I've seen/heard of have been on Resist, and the other is on Claire.
Chalky Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 If you mean Black Wings, all copies I've seen/heard of have been on Resist, and the other is on Claire. There's also several original studio cuts of Black Wings kicking about. Have one version on tape/cd, sounds more like it's from the 70's.
grant Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 i had a copy with I'll Be Waiting on the flip-side. sold it to that guy who run Hyde Market , Manchester, record stall back in the early 90's as part of a collection that included stuff like Vince Apollo, Freddie Williams, The Victors (Hurt), Roy Hamilton RCA Issue), Bernie Williams (Focused on You), and many many more.....for £300 the lot - needed the cash! Agree with Damien - I'll Be Waiting is far superior. Grant
