Soulsmith Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Sounds like an out & out Wigan stomper, but I don't remember it! Anybody got any info? Cheers Col.
Guest Netspeaky Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Played at Stafford if I remember rightly.
Exustrek Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 From the mgm LP, ' How Do You Say I Don't Love You Anymore?' Don't think it ever came out on 45.
Exustrek Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 (edited) Other than Easy Street and Sad September, the LP's pretty much mor, made up of standards like 'yesterday' etc. Edited December 27, 2005 by exustrek

Chalky Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 jerry fuller being the double life , never heard of easy street by him Ken, but was strong connction between the two of them and memory says another title maybe ? got a double life oc smith somewhere off top of head a tenner all in postage ? pm us Jerry Fuller was producer at Columbia and produced O.C. Smith on several 45's.....didn't produce Easy Street though. As for Freda Payne, personally think it's a pretty poor effort and far too poppy.
Soulsmith Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 As for Freda Payne, personally think it's a pretty poor effort and far too poppy. I'd agree with that. Bizarre version. Surprised it was a Stafford track as thought Stafford didn't really go for pop stompers. Heard Freda Paynes 70s track "I get high in your memory" played out last week. What a difference!
Guest Richard Bergman Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Not really a fan of this version....bit too cabaret ...... But a tip for Freda Payne would be her Mgm album 'let it be me'......Brimming full of haunting mid tempo......... Cheap lp ....was also reissued by Polydor in the early 70's I think......

Guest enchantedrythm Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I had this around 77/78 on the l.p how do you say i dont love you anymore arranged by benny golson, produced by tom wilson MGM e/se 4370 written by weiss and anisfield, frost music That copy i traded with Richard Searling in 78/79 for Walters and Sisters how long It did get a couple of airings at Wigan, but for some reason not enough for the sheer class of sound it is ive seen two copies, both stock, plus the one ive now got which is a yellow labeled D J copy i'll get a picture on later today of the whole so to speak excellent tune
