Roburt Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) Not Miami related at all ............. but part of a Hartford radio stn WDRC chart from April 1964 ......... ... Gene Stridel's current 45 was at No.37 (lifted from his Columbia LP) .............. He shared the chart with funky acts such as the Swinging Blue Jeans & the Bachelors. It seems Gene passed away in 1973, so his time in Florida was cut short (see last post). Info on his group, the Striders ........... https://www.uncamarvy...s/striders.html Edited November 29, 2012 by Roburt

Roburt Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Back to the Peppermint Lounge again ..... ... and to the Marvels / Fabulettes one more time ...... seems that in their early days (1962/63), they used to sing all the Marvelettes tunes ........ the Marvels singing the Marvelettes hits ... guess that wasn't meant to confuse people at all !!

Roburt Posted March 23, 2013 Author Posted March 23, 2013 An ad for a gig at Tony's Fish Market Restaurant ........... Back then a young Alice Day was singing soul songs. She soon progressed to jazz and put out a rare album in the early 80's. Now a good age, she still performs on a regular basis & even does shows in Europe.
