Guest Soulfood33 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 There's a great story John Hillyard used to tell about this record. Apparently on the way to Dore recording studios on Melrose Avenue,L.A. the group would would be in a car that hit a large dip in the road that would make group members heads hit the roof of the car. It got so the driver would hit it at speed just to cause havoc oin the back seat, every time they went to work. The group members would respond with accapella "Do The Dip it's really Hip" Nicholas Caldwell (second tennor & barritone) member and writer wrote and recorded the tune..in june 1965.. Dore 735 original value maybe £150 reissue 1970 Dore 842 value 1/2 of that...hope that helps
Nickg Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I've always loved The Dip, but ever since hearing the alternate take on the best of Dore double CD, I still can't make my mind up which I prefer, have a listen: Cheers Nick
