Keb Darge Interview

Manalive....this is the most incredible and savage reflection of Northern soul that I have ever heard, expletives abound as this roller coaster of an interview had me roaring like a red -haired child, Keb Darge tells it like it was, no rose coloured glasses viewpoints here, just an honest kick in the head feeling of an outstanding period in the development of rare soul in this Island of ours. I must have read thousand upon thousand of words and listened to a myriad of folks telling their tales, but "Good God" in heaven this was a wonderous revelation..Top drawer entertainment........I was beginning to think I was the only one stolen by Wolverines from my cot as a child........Outstanding...

You off course know Keb was really Eton educated and in real life speaks like he has marbles in his mouth, his ranting swearing Scottish dialect is just for his public image and djing, getting him ready to return triumphant to Scotland as First Minister when his beloved Scottish National Socialist combination get in (which thankfully is highly unlikely, the party getting in that is not Keb returning obviously!!)

Aww right Keb, long time no see (or hear!) hope you are well.

I can follow this perfectly 'cos as a kid I used to receive oor wullie & the broons annuals at christmas from my ulster irish-scots relatives in maryhill. now dialect is a particularly emotive word today. I think accent would be the most appropriate word here. as in glaswegian kelvinside or edinburgh (auld reekie) morningside where a creche happens to be a nasty accident involving a vehicle. I assume gaup is gawp, meaning to look indiscreetly at sb/sth. an anglo-saxon verb strangely enough, but then again, the saxon kingdom of northumbria stretched from the humber to the forth with its royal seat at edwin's burgh. that wouldn't seem very scots now, would it? now then, this scottish national socialist party. where exactly on the political spectrum can they be found? would they be on the far right as their name implies? keb hardly exudes far right foam from his mush, does he?
