Guest Brooky Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 (edited) Okay....my attempt....... No bad language now Gentlemen....and Ladies! I still like all of them. If I've slipped up on the 'under-played' factor then I apologise....I don't get around enough to be an authority on that! Actually...it could read like a 'most hated' list I suppose....as I said, I still love 'em! Edited May 20, 2012 by chalky 1

Patto Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 ======================================================================================= Thanks Patto....actually, the challenge was finding a sufficient number of records in my collection that were around the £50 mark....didn't realise I was such a 'big-shot'! Yeh what i didnt want was people posting up Fantasy mega expensive records to show off.I've got a few big ticket items but they are all very well Known and over time i have come accross many top dancers that are less expensive. From my list stuff like FIVE STAIRSTEPS,FAB DOWNBEATS,CHUCK CARTER.These are amazing Northern Soul records that don't get much turntable action.I Love my Oldies but the Same old stuff does need interspersing with the odd underplayed tracks to keep things fresh.Thats what Northern Soul is about for me a mix of the familiar and the not so 1

Sunnysoul Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Malibus "I Just cant Stand It" (Duke) ... appears in 3 of the above lists ... and often mentioned in recent times. Surely only a matter of time before this becomes in demand - really do think its a better record than their "Gee Baby I Love You".

hullsoul Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Wow, be great if you find another, cheers! Must admit always thought it was about a 50 quid sound but just had a look on Popsike since you mentioned it & was surprised at the prices it's gone for...........well chuffed I've got a bargain Pete did say when I'd bought it that I'd got it cheap but I thought that was because the demo's are a bit harder? So should be struck off my list sorry Cheers Martyn

Chalky Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I sold it for £40 in the mid 90's...Smithy too cheap at times.
Liljimmycrank Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 There's a few in the lists so far that you'd be lucky to get for £50 or less to be honest. However if you shop around, the bargains are, as are the other great cheapies popping up in the above lists. Great thread
