Guest Gogs Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 (edited) I HATE Snipers, the number of times i've been beaten with 2 seconds to go. But wouldn't fall out with you Andy. Edited May 8, 2012 by Gogs

Prophonics 2029 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Ok Bob, in the excitement of seeing it up for sale I didn't read between the lines on his listing but I'm sure after a skim it would play M

Spacehopper Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 never had a prob with 'esnipe'...£15 credit seems to last for ages...or maybe thats cos im too tight/skint to win 9 out of 10 tunes i go for and you only use up credit when you win dean
Pete S Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Like trog says, Goofbay is excellent and it's completely free, always - just cancelled Bidnapper after 4 years, was only £30 for 6 months but £30 is £30.

Guest Roddy Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Turn the internet off and shop in the old fasshioned way its much more fun Andy !
Pete S Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I might be stating the bleedin' obvious but why not put your bid in when you see the item for sale Because then you've played your hand and possibly started a bidding war 1

Amsterdam Russ Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Turn the internet off and shop in the old fasshioned way its much more fun... With a snipe in place, I can buy records even when I'm asleep! Nearly every day I wake up not knowing what records I've bought the night before. Now that's fun! 1
Mike Lofthouse Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I might be stating the bleedin' obvious but why not put your bid in when you see the item for sale don't think I ever win anything - and all of my items are low value - if I put my bid in early. Just allows opposing bidders to edge up ahead of you. They can't do that if you snipe or manually submit with seconds to go.
Pete Eccles Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 never had a prob with 'esnipe'...£15 credit seems to last for ages...or maybe thats cos im too tight/skint to win 9 out of 10 tunes i go for and you only use up credit when you win dean Yep I use esnipe, I don't know if it's the same with other snipes but you can also put a 'snipe it' button on every ebay page you look at, so you can place a snipe without leaving the page, no need for copying auction numbers and opening new tabs, haven't used any others so this could just be the norm,
Swifty Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 If someone has put a snipe bid on one of my ebay sales does it show as being watched by that person ? often wondered. Cheers Swifty
boba Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 If someone has put a snipe bid on one of my ebay sales does it show as being watched by that person ? often wondered. Cheers Swifty no but they probably are also watching it on ebay. i go through all items ending in a day, watch items i'm interested in, and then put in snipes. i could go back and delete the watches but that wouldn't accomplish much.

Deepdown Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Bidnapper - You can also change the snipe time I think the default is 4 seonds so you can make it what you want ( 2 seconds) but if you make it to near to the close time it may miss out.......
