Ismaelg Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Hi, I just noticed that there two releases of "I don't know" of Lanier & co. My copy is the Waylo- 3018 one , also it was released with the number 102. Is this an different/early version or something like that? Thanks in advance Ismael Garcia

Compared this to the original 45 mix many years ago, and kept the 12". Not sure if the two 45s differ though. Cheers Gareth
Ismaelg Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 I just uploaded a clip with the 3018 version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nye8xoJgzFQ Regards, Ismael G.
Dave Thorley Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I just uploaded a clip with the 3018 version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nye8xoJgzFQ Regards, Ismael G. There are at least two mixes, this is the one played as a new release back in the day. When they put it out on british it was a different mix. Just as an aside some of the members of Cold Blooded Express went on to form this group
Ismaelg Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 According to Waylo's discography the number 102 is from1982/1981
John Reed Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 (edited) Singles wise Lynn White - Slow & Easy was the first release on Waylo and that was 1984. If it was 81/82, that would make "I Don't Know" before their Larc stuff. Edited May 8, 2012 by John Reed

Uppss...sorry , I've seen that the first album of Billy Always on Waylo is a 1982 release and I've assumed that the singles are from the same period. Ok , apparently the 102 release is from 1984 , but the uk pressings are from 1987.

Guest jb000 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 The 102 mix is a much better mix(IMO) it doesnt have the high pitched syth at the beginning. Im sure the 102 mix is same as the 7inch mixon the UK 12!?
Geeselad Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Yes it is. thyanks for that, I must revisiti it sometime.
