Guest Andy BB
In my opinion one of the venues that was at the leading edge for new and up front music in the 80,s and 90,s was the Saints Club in St Helens, And unless you frequented the place you would never list it as a leader in its day, much like the Greatstone is today. I would like to nominate Saints as the first entry. Barry and Flanny take a Bow. Steve Good shout! Although I never went back there after I left the town that time forgot. Wasn't it Mark Hughes's do though? (Maybe that's just what he used to tell us). Still, it was a long way behind Sutton Labour Club when it came to breaking new tunes. I thought Mark and Annette just done the door, Baz and Flanny both post on here maybe they can put the record straight ( no pun intended ) Steve Link to comment Social source share
steve z
Hi Mark. Don't quite follow, anyhow did you like the set? As you know, I've the depth to play mainstream for hours and put most oldie DJs to shame, but if you're gonna Walk the Monkey Talk, then Walk... don't just Talk!! Don't you agree? Happy Christmas. Andy Hi Andy ,missed the listing of what you played. Please list a few here.Merry Xmas Stevie Link to comment Social source share
Guest
Did anyone go to the Droylsden niters in Manchester during the 90s..Great venue and music policy..Can anyone send me or post up a flyer, djs etc. They were brilliant nights. They were promoted by Mark Bicknell, Dennis Billingham and Pete (whos surname escapes me) from Crewe. On that same kind of note, i'm surprised that no-one has mentioned the Congleton allnighters that were run by Johnny Beggs and Duncan Pollitt. Not so many of us went, but the Djs were superb.
